The programme enabled Kathryn to refine her skills as well as utilising new materials and methods such as wax carving. Since leaving university, Kathryn’s work has found social media fame with her iconic animal ‘nose’ rings selling out in minutes.

Caelan pursued a degree at ECA due to the MA Fine Art programme’s combined art history and art practice structure. During their studies, Caelan enjoyed topics such as medieval representations of gender and helped found student art collective ‘Queer as Muck’. Since graduating, they have been able to continue the collective and promote exhibitions in Edinburgh. In the near future, Caelan hopes to work towards practicing as an Art Therapist.

Daniel's decision to study at ECA was fuelled by an immense passion for painting but the opportunities he encountered once enrolled on the course are what have shaped his interests in the field today. Culminating in his nomination for the Freelands painting prize, the Purchase Prize from the university’s Art Collection and an opportunity to show at the Royal Scottish Academy New Contemporaries Exhibition in 2023.
