Biography

Karen Bannister (she/her) is a doctoral candidate in History of Art working under the supervision of Dr. Liliana Riga (School of Social & Political Science), and Dr. Lucy Weir. Karen’s research explores women’s art in post-Apartheid South Africa, and its approach to the temporal, spatial, ontological, and embodied experience of public space. Outside of her PhD studies, Karen is an administrator in the arts sector.
