Research title:
The Harmonised Whole: Wassily Kandinsky and Principles in Visual Perception from Jugendstil through Der Blaue Reiter
Anne is currently pursuing her doctoral research on Wassily Kandinsky and the psychology of visual perception at the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte München with the support of a Leverhulme Study Abroad Studentship.
She has served as a curatorial research assistant for such institutions as the National Gallery of Art in Washington, the Morgan Library & Museum, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. She has also published with Master Drawings, Burlington Magazine, and The Modernist Review. Her research has been supported by the Association for Art History and the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD).
Anne received her Masters degree in History of Art with distinction from the Courtauld in 2015 where she studied German Expressionism, Neue Sachlichkeit, and the Bauhaus. Prior to earning her MA, Anne graduated with honours from the University of Mary Washington in 2013 with a BA in Art History.
