An Edinburgh institution on our Lauriston Campus. The Wee Red Bar hosts regular events including club nights, gigs, and performances.
Operating since the 1980s, and accessed through a concealed entrance on Lady Lawson Street, this lively and intimate venue has earned a cult following in the city. It is known for hosting both up and coming and established bands and DJs, ranging from Reggae to Post-Rock, and every genre in between.
Its longest-standing club night, The Egg, has been going for over twenty years. Other club nights include the gay glitter Disco fever of Hey QT. During the Festival season, the bar becomes a flexible venue for live performances and art.
Now that it's a part of the Edinburgh University Students' Association (EUSA), it contributes to the roster of events held by the Association that represents our students.
The Wee Red Bar can be booked by Edinburgh College of Art students. Contact: weeredbar@eusa.ed.ac.uk
