Carnegie PhD Scholarships

Edinburgh Doctoral College Scholarship

Edinburgh Global Online Learning Masters Scholarship

- Eligibility: Scholarships will be available for students commencing any online part-time learning Masters programme offered by the University in session 2022-2023. Nationals and residents of various countries are eligible.
Eileen Cameron Music Prize

Frederick Niecks Essay Prize

- Eligibility: Open to any full-time undergraduate student in the Reid School of Music. Awarded to the best dissertation.
Gwen Clutterbuck & Leighton Scholarship

- Eligibility: Awarded to undergraduate students in the second or subsequent years of their BMus or MA programme in the Reid School of Music for the purpose of international study. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, applications for digital study opportunities are also accepted in 2021/22.
Ian Pitt Memorial Prize

- Eligibility: Intended to commemorate the life and work of Ian Pitt-Watson (MA 1947, BD 1950) and awarded to an undergraduate who, as a member of Edinburgh University Musical Society, demonstrates an aptitude in the development and conducting of a choral ensemble.
Janet Buckley Memorial Prize

- Eligibility: Award for final year Music student dealing with 'Early Music before 1750'.
John L Paterson Postgraduate Design Scholarship
- Deadline:
- Value: £8,000 tenable for one academic year and will be deducted from your tuition fee with any remaining funds being awarded towards living costs
- Eligibility: Available to applicants with UK/Overseas status who apply for admission to either the MA Design for Change or MA Interior, Architectural and Spatial Design programmes. Applications for full-time study only will be considered.
Mrs Guthrie Watson Scholarship

- Eligibility: Awarded to the first year undergraduate in Music who achieves the best all-round academic performance in the May examinations.
Sir Thomas Beecham Scholarship
- Deadline: May 2022
- Eligibility: Awarded annually, on the basis of the results of the end of year performance examinations, to the first year undergraduate in music who shows the greatest promise in instrumental performance (not including pianists and singers).
St Mary’s Cathedral Choral Scholarship (External)

- Value: Up to 3 x £3,000 - £4,000 per annum
- Eligibility: Up to three scholarships (External) are available for female and male altos, tenors, and basses. Applicants can be undergraduate or postgraduate Music students (all programmes). Applicants should be experienced choir singers, have a good level of sight-reading and should wish to develop their singing further.
