Tracey is an award-winning documentary director and producer whose current work sits at the intersection of expanded cinema and site-specific installation with performative spoken word. Her work is grounded in a belief in the deep human connections unearthed through filmmaking, and in creative storytelling as a means for all of us to flourish.

She cut her teeth working at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, working alongside Kevin Macdonald and Mark Cousins on the strand Great Moments in Documentary History. She continued working with Mark on BBC Two's flagship film series Scene by Scene, contributing to programmes with David Lynch and Woody Allen, before gaining a position as Documentary Programmer for EIFF.

Much of her recent work explores emergent technologies such as VR and 360° immersive filmmaking, with a particular focus on health and wellbeing. She was one of six artists commissioned for Ginkgo Projects' Beyond Walls at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, (RHCYP) and her three-year collaboration with Historic Environment Scotland, Mobile Coast, resulted in immersive films for people physically, socially and mentally marginalised.

Her current project, Hold Me, funded by the Edinburgh Futures Institute and supported by CoSTAR, is an interdisciplinary collaboration with young patients at the RHCYP, VR specialists, animators and medical practitioners.

She is also passionate about storytelling with an environmental focus. Her documentary poem Walking and Wandering (2026) recently won the Audience Award at the Weimar Poetry Film Festival, and Where the Wind Blows (2024) has screened on every continent. Her earlier films include the BAFTA-nominated Plastic Man (2017) and Like Flour (2023) nominated for Best International Documentary at the TRT International Documentary Awards.
