Biography

Jenny Hogarth is an artist and educator working across moving image, installation, and live art. Her practice aligns with feminist autotheory, emerging from a search for flow between the personal and professional aspects of life. The multi channel moving image work 'Profoundly Moving' (2026) is the final part of 'Happy Friday Everybody', a series of five moving image works including 'Flow Co Motion' (2022) exhibited at Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh, 'When You Talk About Volcano Will You Talk About Yourself' (2022) exhibited at Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh, and Freelands Foundation, London, 'Wild Thing' (2020) shown at Threshold Arts, Perth, and The Mechanics of Love (2022), co-authored with Dr Kim Coleman.

The various strands of these works coalesce in intimate self-portraiture, taking an autofictive approach to explore the interwoven realities of diverse subjectivities, shifting away from standard adult-human points of perception and self-centric perspectives.
