Research title:
The Impact of Real-Time Energy Feedback on Household Energy Practices: A Socio-Technical Perspective
Research interests
I study the impact of real-time energy feedback (RTEF) technologies in energy-producing households, examining their role and the extent to which they are needed to support sustainable energy practices. My research moves beyond the utilitarian question of how much energy RTEF can save to explore how these technologies enable households and communities to participate in and shape the energy transition. Using the Aran Islands, Ireland, as a qualitative case study, I examine how RTEF becomes embedded in everyday life and mediates interactions with locally generated renewable energy.
