Research title:
Exploring the ways that food is used to commemorate the dead within the UK
Alex Mascolo is an Interdisciplinary Researcher, working between the fields of Contemporary Art, Anthropology and Photography. Her research focuses on the subject of Death, including the ways that we commemorate the dead and how we can improve experiences of death, dying and bereavement. She is currently a first year PhD student at Edinburgh College of Art, exploring the ways in which food is used to commemorate and connect with the dead.
Alex holds postgraduate degrees in Interdisciplinary Creative Practice MScR from ECA (2019) and Forensic Anthropology MSc from the University of Edinburgh (2016) as well as an Undergraduate degree in Social Anthropology from Goldsmiths, University of London (2014).
