A footprint on top of a sheet of music, with flowers surrounding the right side of the foot.

This concert takes pilgrimage as its starting point: not as a religious act, but as a universal human impulse to leave the everyday behind in search of something unknown.

Sequoia, Edinburgh University's Ensemble in Residence, present three newly commissioned works for violin, cello and electronics, written by PhD composition students.

The concert unfolds across different spaces, with audience and performers walking between them - making the journey itself part of the music. Expect digital scores shaped by audience interaction, intertwined musicians mirroring seeds germinating in the dark, and music that asks what transformation actually feels like from the inside.

Programme

Routebound a duet for restricted strings – Ethan James Davies

Without direction? – Craig Morrison
