About the event

Speaker: Kuang-Yi Ku

Abstract

In this talk, artist Kuang-Yi Ku presents bio-art and speculative design projects exploring the human body, sexuality and medical technology. Collaborating with scientists, he challenges medical dogmas, sparks ethical debate, and uses art as a cultural probe to inspire reflection and imagine alternative futures shaped by science and society.

Biography

Kuang-Yi Ku is an assistant professor at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, and an artist in art, design and bioscience. He holds triple master's degrees in social design, dentistry and communication design. A former dentist, bio-artist and speculative designer, he co-founded TW BioArt and won multiple awards, including the Bio Art & Design Award 2022.
