The Performance Costume workshops are equipped for a mixture of fabric sewing and pattern cutting processes.

As well as being a space for working by hand and embroidery, there are a variety of industrial sewing and knitting machines, irons, overlockers, a heat press, a sublimation printer and a CAD (Computer-Aided Design) embroidery machine available for use.

Performance Costume students benefit from having their own allocated studio space for their design work (including millinery, puppet and wig making, textile manipulation, dyeing, and set design) with the workshops being the place where you can fully bring your ideas to life. These workshops are predominately used by Performance Costume students and as part of programme demonstrations, but students from other programmes of study can also get access following the appropriate inductions.

While students are encouraged to learn to construct and assemble garments independently as they progress through their programme of studies, technical support is available from Technical Learning Services staff.
