Research title:
Towards Person-Centred STEAM: Embodied Learning Design through Human-AI Collaboration
Jiarong Yu is a doctoral researcher specializing in interaction design, with an educational background in Information Architecture and Design Informatics. She is the researcher of "Creativity, AI, and the Human" research cluster. Her practice-based work focuses on STEM&Arts / STEAM education, emphasizing Human-AI collaboration, Human-Computer Interaction, and embodied informatics to catalyze future human intelligence. Jiarong champions integrating arts into STEM to promote knowledge construction and underscore the symbiotic relationship between STEM disciplines, humanity, and the arts.
As an interaction designer and producer, Jiarong has launched interactive experience projects involving scientists, artists, engineers, and brands. Her collaborations include work with Edinburgh Art Festival, Edinburgh Futures Institute, Beauty of Science, the Institute for Design Informatics, China Central Television's Science and Education Channel, Tencent's Ethereal Audio Labs, and others. Her sensory-interactive design works have been exhibited at venues like the National Museum of Scotland, Now Gallery, Blue Centre, Inspace Gallery, and Whitespace Gallery.
