Biography

Eirini Makarouni is an architect, architectural writer and PhD researcher. She obtained her MArch from the University of Edinburgh with Distinction in 2020 and is currently on the second year of her PhD in Architecture by Design at the University of Edinburgh, titled ‘Composing Dialogues: Tu(r)ning Plato’s Myth of Atlantis Towards Contemporary Athens’. Her design-research interests lie on how the visual-spatial and textual forms of a city’s cultural heritage can be stitched together through creative practices, to address contemporary challenges. Eirini is also a contributing writer to Architizer Journal and a guest critic at the Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.
