Megan Baker, Programme Director for the Performance Costume – BA (Hons) and Performance Costume – MFA/MA programmes, has designed the costumes for the upcoming production of The Iliad to be staged at the Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh.

The new adaptation, written by Chris Hannan and directed by Mark Thomson, will run from 20th April – 14th May 2016. Homer’s Iliad, one of the most influential epic poems ever written, follows the tragic and bloody climax to the ten year siege of Troy.

In response to Chris Hannan’s adaptation, Megan has fused historical and contemporary references in order to portray all wars in all countries, focussing on both the 20th Century and ancient Greece. She has used leather moulding, draping, dyeing, stencilling and printing in her designs for this epic play.
