Natassa Philimonos, a 2015 Modern and Contemporary Art: History, Curating, Criticism - MSc graduate, has been appointed as an Associate Producer as part of Collective’s “Satellites Programme” for emergent artists, writers, curators and producers based in Scotland.

The prestigious development programme is selected through an open submission and is designed to support practitioners at pivotal points in their careers. Comprising seminars, discussions, events, exhibitions, retreats, mentoring and an annual publication, it seeks to foster criticality through peer development and review.

Natassa’s exhibition project will address debates around the topic of migration, taking at its starting point the catastrophic events currently unfolding in and around the Mediterranean Sea. She will draw upon the research she undertook at Edinburgh College of Art on artistic responses to the ‘politics of fear’.

Other 2016 participants include fellow Associate Producer Katie Schwab and artists Jennifer Bailer, Mark Bleakley and Hamish Young.

Satellites Programme 2016 was selected by Tessa Lynch (artist), Jenny Richards and Jens Strandberg (Co-directors, Konsthall C) and George Vasey (Curator and Writer, Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art).
