This article, by Professor Juliette MacDonald, ECA Director of Faculty and International Dean at Shanghai College of Fashion and Innovation, records an alumni event that took place this spring.

On Saturday 27 April ECA Principal Juan Cruz and myself were thrilled to host an ECA alumni event for our China-based alumni at The Shanghai EDITION. 

We had nearly one hundred alumni attend, some of whom had graduated in 2023 and others from previous years reaching back to nearly twenty years ago. 

The Shanghai EDITION is on East Nanjing Street, which is a very busy street near the iconic Bund waterfront area of Shanghai. However, the Club Room where the event was held had a very laid-back vibe, with plenty of areas for groups to sit together, meet old and new friends and catch up with each other.  

Once everyone arrived, Juan gave a welcome talk to update alumni on key things happening in ECA and to say how pleased we were to be in contact with so many of our graduates from ECA. It was really clear that everyone in the room was delighted to have the chance to connect with ECA and there were many requests for Juan and I to share greetings with colleagues at ECA who were remembered with much warmth and fondness.
