For special projects, studio users can be provided with access to the central University facilities, for example, the high performance computing resources of the Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre.

All studio and lab computers are remotely managed. There is wireless access within the studio complex, both throughout Alison House and university-wide. Studio users also have access to the Reid School of Music’s servers; these provide student file storage and a web service, amongst other things.

Studio and equipment assistance

Having someone to guide studio users is a valuable support mechanism for students. For that reason, a Technical Support Team is on hand to help you with any studio or equipment queries.

Equipment Loan Policy

On occasion, Reid School of Music loans some of its equipment out (usually to non-profit organisations).
