Following the success of their first event last year, Music across Borders is back! Staging a series of four concerts taking place every two months which, brings together a wide variety of world music ensembles from across Scotland.
This winter concert lineup features three groups:
- an Indian vocal (Khyal style) and tabla by Karan Rana and Sodhi Deerhe
- The Chinese Edinburgh Music Ensemble
- African Drumming Society
Music Across Borders brings together twelve World music and dance ensembles from Edinburgh and across Scotland through a series of evening concerts in St Cecilia’s Hall. These concerts are organised by Dr Alec Cooper and Chen Qinhan, and supported by the University of Edinburgh’s Student Experience Grant.
'Our goal is to provide a stage, an audience and a platform for these groups to share their music, dance and culture in an intimate and friendly atmosphere, thereby helping them expand their reach and increase their social impact.'
Tickets are only £5 and £3 for students, which are available at the door.
