Naked Craft is a touring exhibition of the work of 22 contemporary makers from Scotland and Canada. The Barony Centre, West Kilbride, is the third venue of the Scottish tour of the exhibition.
As part of the exhibition, Naked Craft and Craft Town Scotland are hosting a one-day symposium at The Barony Centre on the benefits and opportunities afforded by international exchange and partnerships on Saturday 15th October 2016.
Open to everyone, and featuring six invited speakers, the symposium aims to illustrate some of the many opportunities available to artists and craftspeople to expose, promote and sell their work, as well as how connections and dialogue with organisations and makers can be initiated and established on an international level.
Programme in brief
The day will comprise talks by six speakers, including the show’s co-curator, Dr Juliette MacDonald, Head of Design at Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) and Principal Investigator of the AHRC-funded Naked Craft Network.
There will also be plenty of discussion, an opportunity to visit the exhibition and Craft Town Scotland’s studios, and a closing drinks reception.
