Private view 15th September, 6pm - 8pm
Matthew Inglis will be exhibiting a series of diorama boxes, a selection from an ongoing series of works that encapsulate poetic, tragic, humorous, absurd and eccentric narratives. Using a range of very tangible found objects, toys and models, Matthew offers the audience a glimpse into the ideas of dreams, propositions and memory, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Matthew graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1980 from the Tapestry Department. He has exhibited in the UK, Europe and Canada, has been the recipient of the Scottish Arts Council award, and has taken part in residences both in the UK and in Europe.
Matthew’s most recent exhibition was inclusion in the “The Scottish Endarkenment: Art and Unreason 1945 to the Present”, curated by Bill Hare and Andrew Patrizio.
