This year, also known as Senior Honours, is the second of the two Honours years. Joint Honours with History of Art, Archaeology, or Social History can be pursued by selecting appropriate options courses.

The required course in this year takes the form of a 12,000-word dissertation based on individual research. The focus of the architectural history dissertation tend to be on either interpretation or archival research. Students develop appropriate topics through their own interests, curiosity, and passions in consultation with an academic member of staff who serves as the supervisor of the dissertation.

Option courses

Option courses serve to complement this programme of study allowing the student to shape the course of their degree according to an increasingly specialized field of interests.
