There are a range of scholarships and bursaries available to postgraduate students: some open to all students across all five schools at ECA; and some specific to subject areas and programmes. School of Art History, University of Edinburgh and National Museums Scotland (with Scottish National Portrait Gallery)
Successful applicants will have a research interest aligning with, or cutting across, ECA's five Schools.
Scholarships available for one academic year of postgraduate study at Edinburgh College of Art. (£15,000)
Scholarships available for one academic year of postgraduate study at Edinburgh College of Art. (£5,000)
Open to British citizens undertaking MA/MFA Film Directing or MSc Composition for Screen at ECA. Scholarship of up to £12,000 towards tuition fees, BAFTA mentoring support and free access to BAFTA events around the UK.
Open to BMus graduates of the University of Edinburgh, for the study of instrumental performance, or composition, or for research outside Scotland/University of Edinburgh. (£100-£5000)
For full-time postgraduate taught masters students starting at Reid School of Music. (£5,000)
Glass at ECA and Caithness Glass have partnered to offer one Masters student a one-year funded scholarship. (£8,500)
The scholarships cover tuition fees, maintenance allowance, research and travel allowance.
Designed to attract high quality students applying for PhD research.
Covers tuition fees together with an annual stipend of £14,000 for living costs and travel.
Funding for PhD students undertaking interdisciplinary research at ECA. (£16,000 per year)
One scholarship of £10,000 and three scholarships of £5,000. Used to cover tuition fees in the first instance.
4 scholarships for distance learning Masters programmes offered by the University.
Open to overseas students starting a PhD at University of Edinburgh.
Available to assist with the extra costs of studying and working abroad. Can be from €280 to €330 a month, depending on the country you visit.
£5,000 scholarship available to students from India for PGT Masters study on a one year full-time degree in 2017/18.
Open to current students pursuing research in the area of Scottish Music. (£1,000)
For current full-time music students. Students wishing to enter the competition must present a programme of organ music lasting 35-40 minutes. (£1,000)
For full-time postgraduate taught masters students starting at Reid School of Music. (£3,000)
Open to new and current postgraduate Musicology students. (£500)
$40,000 CAD per year for three years, plus up to an additional $20,000 CAD annually to support research-related travel.
For UK applicants to the MSc Design and Digital Media programme. Funds tuition fees and provides a monthly maintenance allowance.
