Marco Scerri is a graphic designer and teaching fellow. He currently leads the stage 3 year group on the BA (Hons) Graphic Design programme at Edinburgh College of Art. He completed his undergraduate degree in Visual Communication at ECA in 2009 and subsequently gained an MA in Communication Design from Glasgow School of Art in 2012.
Marco was introduced to Graphic Design in his home country of Malta, by his father and grandfather, who are both graphic designers. After working for a number of design studios and publishing houses at home and abroad, he developed an interest in the wider contexts of Graphic Design. This approach led Marco to investigate the unfolding phenomenon of human migration in the Mediterranean region, in his postgraduate research.
Recent projects he has worked on include, NHS-commissioned ‘Dignified Spaces’, AHRC-funded research project ‘Spiritualism in Stoke-on-Trent’ and Notes Journal, a Scottish artist-led review of photography, in its critical context.
He lives and works between Glasgow and Malta.
